Permanent Total Disability

If you suffer an injury at work that leaves you permanently disabled and you cannot return to work, you are eligible for permanent total disability benefits. When you are first injured you will receive temporary disability payments and when it’s determined that you can’t return to work your temporary benefits will stop and be replaced by permanent benefits.

The amount of your weekly benefits will be 70% of your gross average weekly wage but capped at an amount set by New Jersey law. This amount is paid to you for at least 450 weeks but can be continued if you are still unable to work at that time.
